Matariki Day

Gymnastics Festival

We had such a great day at the Gymnastics Festival today!
There were 14 girls and boys from Turama who took part in the festival and all did very well. You should all be very proud of your efforts today.

Playhouse Theatre

Today we had The Playhouse Theatre performing 'The Fairest of Them All."
The performance was great! The children were very engaged and found it extremely funny.
We hope to see them next year performing an item based around Puss In Boots!

Volleyball with Mr Brodie

Mr Brodie came and took half the class for volleyball this afternoon, while the other half were practising their routines for the upcoming gymnastics festival. For volleyball we had to practise setting and hitting the ball. It was much trickier than it looked!

Rippa Rugby Stars

On Tuesday Jacob and Brecon spent the day at Motueka playing in a Rippa Rugby tournament. They said they had an awesome day and really enjoyed their games!

Matariki Breakfast

On Wednesday we had a very early start! The children arrived to school at 7.15 in hope to see the seven stars of Matariki. Unfortunately it was a cloudy morning so we could not see the stars. We all gathered around the braziers before heading into the hall for a school breakfast. It was a great start to the day!
You can see more photos of this morning on our new school Facebook page - search Upper Moutere School on Facebook to see the post.

Welcome Back Amanda!

Amanda came back to school today filled with excitement about her amazing trip overseas! She spent a lot of time creating a poster on her trip and shared it with the class this morning.
It sounded like Amanda, Kim and Alex had a wonderful holiday!
There were a lot of questions asked and stories shared. You can see Amanda's poster on the wall in Turama as you walk in the door.

It is great to have you back Amanda!

Measurement in Action

We had a fun Maths session exploring measurement. We had to measure ourselves, experiment with measuring in ml and l, weigh objects using scales and discover how many grams or millilitres were in different products.

Rabbit Island Cross Country

Here are our superstar cross country runners that raced at Rabbit Island on Thursday. We had great results school wide!
Harriet is going to the next round at Saxton Field. Good Luck to Harriet!
