Our Day at Elma Turner Library
On Monday we spent the day at the Elma Turner Library in Nelson. We had an art lesson on mixing colours and relating these to our feelings and we also got to spend time exploring the wonderful books in the children's section of the library! Here are a few snaps from our day.

There's a Monkey in my Chair
Introducing our new student who loves monkeying around the place! This is Brooke the monkey who is coming to school in place of our lovely Brooke (the girl) until she is well enough to come. When the Turama students go out to cross country running or to fitness or to the library, Monkey Brooke comes too.
Cross Country Training
We have been training for the Cross Country every afternoon.
We have been running a different track this week. We start at the bottom field, run up the bank by the pool, run in front of Marama, pass the sandpit and back down the bank.
Here are some of our action shots!
Sandpit Fun
Our sandpit is a very popular place to play! All sorts of team work and construction takes place here every day.
Whole School Shared Healthy Lunch
We finished off Term 1 and our Making Healthy Food Choices unit with a whole school lunch, prepared by the students. It was a great way to finish the term! After our first course we enjoyed a performance from the Motueka High School band, before enjoying our main course (sandwiches, pizza, sushi, savoury muffins, etc). Thanks to Motueka New World and Richmond Pac n Save for giving us gift vouchers to spend on our healthy lunch.
Cycle Safety
The Year 4 and 5s from Turama took part in Cycle Safety with Constable Tonkin in the last week of school for Term 1. The students had a great time improving their bike skills on the court and bottom field. Thanks Mr T!
