We had a visitor in our school last week called Reta. She is a nutritionist and also a NZ Commonwealth Games cyclist! Reta came to school to teach us how to identify everyday foods and occasional foods, and she also taught us about all the things in food that keep us strong and healthy (like fibre). Lauren and Julieanne were so impressed with how quickly the Turama students learnt and how well they could remember the information (young brains are amazing). Here are a few photos from the class lessons and lesson at the supermarket. Thanks Reta - you are an awesome teacher! Thanks also to the super parents who came with us to the supermarket! You were all so encouraging and patient.
